  • Usage data: pages visited, content viewed, interactions (likes, follows, shares)
  • Device information: browser type, operating system, IP address (for region detection)

2. How We Use Your Data

  • To provide and personalise the Platform (feed recommendations, search)
  • To communicate with you (notifications, email updates)
  • To enforce our Terms of Service and Community Guidelines
  • To improve the Platform through aggregated analytics
  • To detect and prevent fraud, spam, and abuse

3. What We Do Not Do

  • We do not sell your personal data to third parties
  • We do not use third-party advertising trackers
  • We do not share your data with data brokers
  • We do not read your private messages for advertising purposes

4. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored on servers located in Europe (Hetzner, Germany). We use encryption in transit (TLS/SSL), hashed passwords (bcrypt), and access controls to protect your data. Media files are stored in encrypted object storage.

5. Cookies

We use essential cookies for authentication and session management. We use self-hosted analytics (no third-party cookies). We do not use cookies for advertising.

6. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your account and data
  • Export your data in a portable format
  • Withdraw consent for optional data processing

7. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it by law.

8. Children's Privacy

Sheeko is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If we become aware of such data, we will delete it promptly.

9. Regional Compliance

We comply with applicable data protection laws including GDPR (EU), POPIA (South Africa), and the Australian Privacy Act. Users in these jurisdictions have additional rights as specified by local law.

10. Changes

We may update this policy. Material changes will be communicated via email or in-app notice. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
